Description
This is a graceful bird when wading the shallow waters and has lovely tones to its plumage. I hope that the mood of the painting helps to reflect the character of this breed of bird.
The Tricolored Heron (Egretta tricolor) formerly known in North America as the Louisiana Heron, is a small heron. It is a resident breeder from the Gulf states of the USA and northern Mexico south through Central America and the Caribbean to central Brazil and Peru. There is some post-breeding dispersal to well north of the nesting range.
The original painting is 20 inches x 16 inches on Canvas Board. Bill has been painting and selling his artworks and prints for over 30 years and they are collected worldwide. You will see a wide variety of subjects and many locations around the world when looking through his galleries on this site many of which have been inspired by his travels.
