Description
A Sunderland takes off from a Scottish loch. The Sunderland was built by the Short Brothers. One of the engines used was a Bristol Pegasus XXII with 1010hp.This flying boat patrol bomber had many uses including hunting U-Boats in the battle of the Atlantic.It became to be known as the 'Flying Porcupine' due to it's defensive power. Bill has been painting and selling his artworks and prints for over 30 years and they are collected worldwide. You will see a wide variety of subjects and many locations around the world when looking through his galleries on this site many of which have been inspired by his travels.
